Felix Maietta, C.E.C. Executive Chef and owner of
Union Gourmet Market & Café has been the Executive
Chef at the distinguished Down Town Club in Society
Hill, Philadelphia for the past 15 years.
He is an award-winning chef and has earned his professional
certification as Certified Executive Chef (CEC) from
the prestigious American Culinary Federation. Chef
Felix has been chosen to host not one but two annual
dinners for the American Academy of Chefs. Attended
by chefs from all over the country, it is an evening
of camaraderie, exquisite food and awards and is quite
an honor to have been selected to cook for his contemporaries.
While Chef Felix has cooked for royalty and celebrities,
perhaps his most challenging and exhilarating experience
was to prepare cuisine for former President Clinton.
Not only was the pressure on to create a wonderful
dinner for the then seated President of the United
States, he had to accomplish it with two Secret Service
agents by his side monitoring his every move!
His passion for the culinary arts and his commitment
to excellence are reflected in his menus and presentations,
which carefully utilize the freshest seasonal ingredients
possible and incorporate the latest in food trends.
His innovative menus include many new Signature dishes
expressly created for Union Gourmet Market & Café
customers.
